Water, Water Resources, and Wastewater Development Fees

Water and Wastewater Development Fees / Processes

Scottsdale charges water, water resources, and sewer development fees to fund infrastructure improvements and water supply acquisition.  Development fees must be paid in order to obtain a building permit, or to set a new water meter.  The fee amounts are updated every July.

  • Residential Development Fees
  • Non Residential Development Fees

Non-residential (commercial) development fees are based on average gallons per day of water and sewer usage.  The development fee packet provides forms and instructions to help estimate water and sewer needs and calculate the estimated development fees associated with those non-residential needs.

Development Impact Fee Study

The City of Scottsdale recently completed a comprehensive water and wastewater system development impact fee study. The new fees, effective January 5, 2009, are a result of that study. The new city-wide development impact fees are no longer based on separate fee tables for Zone A and Zone B-E. Water and wastewater systems are now integrated throughout the City of Scottsdale.
