Invite Native Birds for a Picnic
Gambell's quail, cactus wrens, verdins and other native birds have adapted to survive on native plants. Reduce the need to maintain bird feeders by adding plants that supply nectar, fruits, berries or seeds in all seasons. Insects are an important food source for birds. Eliminate pesticides and let the birds provide pest control for you! Provide perches, such as agave flower stalks and ocotillo branches, for birds to survey their territory. |
