General Volunteering

Volunteering at the department can be an enjoyable experience. You're giving back to the community by helping with administrative tasks that department employees would otherwise have to accomplish. For the most part, you can pick your own hours. Those tasks include helping to file and collate paperwork, internal mail service, helping monitor specialized equipment or perhaps assisting at one of our training classes at the shooting range or mobile field force exercises. There are a variety of specialized volunteer functions that we might need help with as well. Occasionally we need help with in our investigations sections, training unit, records, budget and support services areas. You might have a special skill that we could use. As with all volunteers, an extensive background check is always required. No physical testing or requirements are generally necessary in this area of volunteering.
