| Details: |
Our initial investigation into the two deaths at 8097 E. Del Trigo have lead investigators to believe that Mr. Steven Lester shot Vanessa Klein multiple times, then shot himself. A case of Domestic Violence resulting in a murder-suicide.
It appears that LESTER called KLEIN, a longtime girlfriend, to come over to his residence sometime in the evening of August 17. Upon arriving, LESTER confronted her at the door of his residence and shot her multiple times. He then turned the gun on himself. A handgun belonging to LESTER was found near his body.
Some of the neighbors told investigators that they heard gunshots around 8:30 PM the night before. 911 records indicate police received one call reporting the sound of shots the night before at 8:35 PM from a resident on Del Trigo. Officers were unable to locate the source of the shots when they responded to the area.
The medical examiners office will rule on the exact cause and manner of death at a later date. However, at this point in the investigation, we do not believe that there are any outstanding persons involved in these deaths. (Updated 8/19/2011 @ 9:30AM)
