UPDATE:
Last week SPD detectives submitted two additional charges on the suspect. Further investigation revealed a previous case from 07/06/11 from the Sunscape Apartments at 3500 N. Hayden Road where the suspect looked inside of a residential window where a male and female were located. When the female victim noticed the suspect she screamed and the suspect ran off.
Both the male and female victims were able to positively identify Grant through photo line-ups as the suspect they had seen that night.
ORIGINAL:
On 07/08/11 SPD was called to the apartment complex at 4111 N. Drinkwater Blvd in reference to a male subject looking into a window of an apartment in the area. The witness recognized the suspect as Benjamin Grant (aka Benjamin Fuchs) as she knew him from the past. The suspect was not on scene when officers arrived.
Shortly after the 07/08/11 incident detectives began a surveillance on Grant and on 08/06/11 after watching Grant make multiple stops at different apartment complexes including 7009 E. Acoma, 2700 N. Hayden, and 3131 N. 70th Street, Grant was taken into custody. Grant was observed looking into windows and at two locations entered patios that were enclosed by three to four foot walls in order to facilitate his crime.
Grant was booked on multiple counts of Attempted Voyeurism, Voyeurism, and Burglary.
Grant was arrested in 2008 for similar incidents. |
