Suspects Arrested for Assault on Uniformed ROTC Officer

SPD Officers working the Waste Management Phoenix Open near 8200 E. Bell Road observed the three males harassing the private security officers near the valet/cab lot. The males appeared intoxicated. They were observed walking on the sidewalk eastbound yelling profanities at the security guards and displaying their middle fingers. A golf cart driven by the victim was heading westbound past the three males when S HENDREN spit on the uniformed victim and yelled . The 19 yr old female victim is a member of her college ROTC and dressed in formal military BDU uniform, volunteering at the golf event.  In addition to being spit on, the victim complained that one of the males had grabbed her arm earlier in the tent asking for a ride. When she refused, one of the males sprayed a sports drink at her.

The suspects were contacted by officers and arrested for disorderly conduct, assault and failure to obey a police officer. They were booked into Scottsdale City Jail and released later pending court appearance.
