The male victim is a student at Desert Mountain High School. At about 9:00 AM, he obtained a pass to go to the Palomino Library, which is a public library located on the DMHS campus, attached to the main building. He arrived at the library and sat at a computer. He noticed an adult male sitting near him staring at him, which made him uncomfortable. At some point, the juvenile went to the library stacks to locate a book. The suspect came up to the victim near a bookshelf and committed sexual abuse by inappropriately touching the victim outside of this clothes. The victim walked away from the suspect and returned to a computer station to continue his school work. After some minutes passed and the victim had completed his work at the library,he got up to leave. On the way out, he stopped in the restroom. While he was in the stall, the suspect approached the stall and looked through at the victim. The victim yelled loudly and the suspect left the bathroom quickly. The victim immediately reported the crime to the school staff and School Resource Officer.
Investigating officers were on campus this morning at approximately 11:30 today, when library staff notified them that the suspect had returned to the library. Officers made contact with the man in the library and he was positively identified as the suspect from yesterday's incident. He was arrested and booked into Scottsdale City Jail. He is facing felony charges of Sexual Abuse, Unlawful Viewing of a Person, and False Information. The suspect is being held in custody. |
