On 06/10/12 at 3:00 am as three females were sitting in the grassy area on the east side of Civic Center Plaza just north of Stetson a male suspect approached them. The suspect simulated a gun in his hand and demanded that all three turn away from him or they would die. Initially all three complied and one of the victims was touched inappropriately through her clothing. A second victim noticed that the suspect was only holding a cell phone and pushed him away while the other two ran into the roadway and were able to flag down SPD officers who were approaching. The suspect was found nearby and taken into custody. No weapon was found.
The suspect was booked on 3 counts of Kidnapping and Threats and 1 count each of Sex Abuse and Assault.
There were no injuries that required medical attention.
