On Sunday morning at 6:20 AM SPD investigated a two vehicle serious injury collision at the intersection of Scottsdale and Camelback Roads.
The driver of a Blue Chevy Cavalier was southbound on Scottsdale Road when he struck a Black Mercedes which was stopped at the red light at Camelback Road. The Chevy continued into the traffic pole on the southwest corner of the intersection where it ultimately came to rest.
The driver of the Chevy was transported to SMH-Osborn in Serious Condition. Alcohol and speed both appear to be factors for the driver of the Chevy. He will face DUI related charges pending his release from the hospital.
The 4 occupants of the Mercedes were uninjured.
The intersection was closed for about 4 hours during the investigation. |
