On 03/15/12 at 10:15 a.m. SPD was called to Pima and Pinnacle Peak Road for a collision that occurred just west of the intersection.

As the rider of a Yamaha motorcycle was traveling eastbound on Pinnacle Peak, the driver of a Chevy pickup truck began turning left from westbound Pinnacle Peak into the parking lot at 8711 E. Pinnacle Peak. As the truck turned in front of the motorcycle, the rider collided with the pickup. The rider was transported by air to SHC-Osborn with serious, possibly life-threatening injuries. The rider was wearing a helmet.

The roadway was closed until 1:00 p.m. for the investigation.
Truck driver cited for Failure to Yeild While Turning Left and Causing Serious Injury for the same charge.
