On Sunday at 4:00 am Scottsdale Fire and Police were called to an apartment fire at the Scottsdale Meadows Apartments (10888 N. 70th Street). The 19 year old resident of the apartment was unable to leave through the front door as the living room area and the area around the door had flames emanating. The victim broke his bedroom window and jumped out of the second floor window. The victim had non life threatening injuries and was taken to JCL for treatment.
The surrounding apartments were evacuated during the fire. Residents were allowed to return by 6:45 am. Damage to the apartment that was on fire was extensive. The cause at this time is still under investigation.
