Details:

Yesterday, SPD was called to the scene of a serious collision at Pima and Jomax. Just after 4:00 am a single vehicle collision took place as a dark colored Chevy sedan was northbound at the intersection and left the roadway just north. The vehicle rolled coming to rest on the east side of Pima. The vehicle was occupied by two females. The 39 year old passenger was ejected and her injuries were considered to be life threatening at the time of the collision. She was not wearing her seatbelt. The 29 year old driver was also injured in the collision. Her injuries were considered to not be as serious. Both were transported to John C. Lincoln North, however, the passenger was transported by air.

Pima Road was closed north and south from Jomax to Dynamite until 9:30 am for the investigation. Alcohol and speed were both factors in the collision.

At 11:30 am today, the victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.
