On 11/13/12 at 9:30 pm SPD was called to the Holiday Inn Express at 7350 E. Gold Dust as the desk clerk, Wade Radzinski, called to alert us of a bomb threat. Radzinski informed the PD that he was instructed to put cash in a bag and leave it outside for the would-be thief or a bomb would be detonated. Radzinski said he complied prior to our arrival. As officers arrived and were attempting to determine if the threat was legitimate, they asked Radzinski if they could search his car, to which he complied. During the search of Radzinski’s vehicle the amount of cash that was missing from the hotel was recovered from within the vehicle. When Radzinski saw that the cash was recovered he made statements incriminating himself and also informed officers that the bomb threat was a hoax prior to evacuations beginning.
Radzinski was booked on Theft and False Reporting charges.
