On Sunday at 2:30 pm SPD was called to the Motel 6 at 6848 E. Camelback Rd. to check welfare on a female and her two young children after the motel management did not receive payment for the room and the female not leaving.
When officers arrived at the female’s room they found the door to be standing open and a 2 year old female sleeping on the floor near the door. The officers entered when no one answered and found a 3 year old male sleeping on the bed. They found the room to be in disarray and after about five minutes the mother of the children returned to the room and stated that she left to go get some food. The mother appeared to be under the influence of drugs and after questioning she told officers that she had used heroin and directed officers where to find it in the room.
The children were turned over to CPS and the mother was taken into custody on charges of Endangerment and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. |
