On Sunday at about 2:00 AM SPD Detention Staff went to check on William Naramore while he was in his cell and found him unresponsive. Paramedics were summoned and first aid was administered. Naramore was transported to SHC Osborn where he was pronounced dead.
The events leading up to Naramore’s death are as follows:
On Saturday evening, SPD was alerted to a domestic violence situation in the 1600 Block of North Pima Road where Naramore was the suspect. Information led officers to believe that he would be found at a bar in the Scottsdale Road and Indian Bend location. Naramore’s vehicle was found in the area and he was spotted getting into a cab. The cab was pulled over; Naramore was identified and taken into custody without incident. Naramore had quantities of drugs in his possession that indicated they may be for sale.
Naramore was booked into jail without incident just after 1:00 AM on Sunday morning on charges of Narcotic Drugs in Possession for Sale, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Dangerous Drugs. Prior to being found in his cell, Naramore showed no signs of medical distress. At this point the ME’s Office will be determining the cause of death. |
