On 12/24/11 at 5:45 am SPD was called to the area of 91st Street and Carol Way in reference to a black Dodge pickup truck that had been seen speeding through the area, striking property and driving erratically.
Officers tracked the vehicle to the registered owner’s home nearby and found multiple victims of criminal damage as they were able to find damage occurring from north of Shea to south of Cactus and from 88th Place to 98th Street. Throughout the area the suspect vehicle drove through a greenbelt area striking multiple light fixtures and damaging landscaping. The vehicle entered numerous front yards striking mailboxes and damaging homeowner’s yards. At 89th Street and Charter Oak the truck ran over the street sign which was on the corner. During the damage spree, the truck struck three vehicles; a BMW which was parked in the roadway, a Ford passenger car at a second home which was parked in a driveway and then a Chevy pickup, parked in a driveway at a third residence.
Witnesses stated that the damage which was occurring looked to be purposeful.
Since the vehicle was unoccupied and parked at the time officers made contact with individuals at the Carol Way address no arrest(s) were made. At this time the investigation is ongoing with the leads that are available.
