On the morning of Wednesday, October 26^th, officers from the Scottsdale Police traffic squad participated in a Commercial Vehicle Safety Task Force in conjunction with ADOT at the Loop 101 and Hayden Road. This was one of 8 details we participate in each year to ensure that commercial motor carriers are in compliance with the safety rules and regulations in place to keep the motoring public safe.

Wednesday’s detail resulted in 5 vehicles being put out of service for severe safety violations. About 50 commercial vehicles were inspected all together, with over 100 violations discovered and cited by the officers. (Photos below of frayed safety cable and damaged brake line from a prior detail)
