The victim’s garage door was seen open by a worker who knew that the victim was out of town, he also noticed the victim’s black BMW missing from the garage. The reporting party contacted SPD and as we were responding to the area Desert Mountain security called SPD to let us know that the victim’s vehicle had just driven into the community. Officers were able to stop the vehicle and take the two occupants into custody without incident. Property from inside of the residence was found in the vehicle.
There were no signs of forced entry into the home and while inside the suspect(s) obtained the keys to the vehicle.
Investigation into how long the suspects had been in the home and method of entry are still under investigation.
Both were booked on Auto Theft and Burglary charges.
