On 12/10/12 at 3:00 pm SPD was called to a home in the 7500 block of E. Turquoise Ave. in reference to a burglary in progress. The homeowner stated that he was on his way to work when he passed a 17 year old former co-worker walking in the neighborhood. The 17 year old was also walking with a second individual. The victim did not think that the 17 year old had a valid reason to be in his neighborhood and got an uneasy feeling that he may try to break into his house.
After about 30 minutes at work the victim decided to go home and check it out. When he arrived he found both subjects inside of his home. The suspects fled on foot in separate directions. Officers arrived and found the 17 year old hiding in a nearby back yard and took him into custody without incident. He also made statements incriminating himself. The other individual remains at large.
The second suspect is described as an 18 year old white male, 5’10”, 150 lbs. The 17 year old suspect was booked on counts of Burglary, Possession of Marijuana and 2 counts of Trespassing.
