Details:

On 08/16/12 SPD detectives received information about a suspect in two earlier Scottsdale residential burglaries from 08/10/12. The investigation led them to Diana Lewis, a Phoenix resident. Detectives began surveilling Lewis and at 9:00 am on the 16th, observed her conduct a burglary by entering through the back door of a residence in the 7200 block of N. 17th Avenue in Phoenix. As they continued to follow her she eventually went through a drive through of a fast food restaurant at 35th Avenue and Glendale where officers took her into custody.

While securing her at the scene she ran from detectives and injured her leg during the struggle to get her back into custody. She was transported to Maryvale Hospital for treatment then released to Maricopa County Jail.

Search warrants served on her home in Phoenix, and on her vehicle recovered cash, jewelry and various items tying Lewis to the Phoenix burglary and the two earlier burglaries from the 7700 block of E. Roosevelt and the 7300 block of E. Portland in Scottsdale.

Lewis was booked on counts of Burglary and related charges.
