On Sunday at 4:00 pm SPD was called to a home in the 9400 block of E. Wood Dr. as the home alarm was going off. Officers arrived to find a valid burglary had taken place and the residence was now empty. As officers investigated they contacted the homeowner who was able to inform officers of missing items, including a flat screen tv, based on a description of the scene. As officers began to contact neighbors about the incident they noticed a red Mitsubishi parked in front of the home to the east. In the rear seat of the Mitsubishi could be seen a television fitting the description of the one taken. Also, there was a trail of miscellaneous property leading to the front door of the home to the east.
Officers made contact with a male subject who was in the home to the east and after questioning him took him into custody for the burglary. The suspect was booked on one count of burglary and one count of criminal damage. The suspect was visiting the neighboring home and was not a resident there. |
