On 10/21/11 at 9:00 pm SPD was called to a home in the 8000 Block of E. Cortez due to a home alarm going off. As an officer approached the home a subject was seen leaving from the side yard carrying a box. When the subject saw the officer he dropped the box (containing jewelry from the home) and ran eastbound. The officer gave chase but lost the subject in a drainage area.
A search of the area was conducted and a pickup truck belonging to the subject (Ammed Hassen) was found parked at the nearby Starfire golf course. Surveillance was conducted and when the suspect returned to his truck detectives were alerted. A traffic stop was made and the suspect was taken into custody without incident.
Hassen was booked on one count of Burglary. |
