On 04/17/12 at 2:20 am SPD was called to the Walmart at 15355 N. Northsight Blvd as an individual who was walking out to his Chevy SUV, which was parked in the lot, noticed a male subject sitting in his driver’s seat. When the victim confronted the subject, the subject fled on foot. There was damage to the vehicle’s ignition indicating that the subject was attempting to steal the car.
Arriving officers found the subject nearby and took him into custody. A Chevy van and a Nissan Sentra were also found in the parking lot with similar damage to their ignitions. At this time the investigation is ongoing to identify whether the other damaged vehicles are linked to the same suspect.
