The victim was walking on the sidewalk near 82nd St. and McDonald. The suspect vehicle drove toward the victim, parked, then the suspect approached the victim, carrying a baseball bat. The suspect demanded the victim’s purse and during the struggle for the purse, the victim fell to the ground. The victim was never struck with the bat and did not require medical attention.
About 12 minutes after the crime occurred the suspect vehicle was located near Hayden and Indian Bend Roads. While officers attempted to stop the suspect, he drove onto the Silverado Golf Course southwest of Pima and Indian Bend where the suspect abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.
A search of the area was conducted for the suspect with negative results.
The victim's purse was recovered at the suspect's vehicle. |
