The Investigative Services Division is divided into five sections based on areas of responsibility. Each section is divided into units that are assigned specific investigative responsibilities. Should you have questions about a current investigation, a potential investigation, or a crime related to any of these areas, you should contact the supervisor of the respective Sections listed below.
Citizens wishing to report possible illegal drug activity are encouraged to call 480-312-TIPS (8477). You may remain anonymous if you so choose and your information will be assigned to an investigator for follow-up.
The Crimes Against Persons Section includes the Violent Crimes Unit (homicide, assaults, & robbery), the Domestic Violence Unit (domestic violence and crimes against children), the Sex Crimes Unit (sexual assault, sex abuse, indecent exposure) and the Gang Investigations Unit (all gang related crimes).
The Crimes Against Property Section includes the Auto Crimes Unit (auto theft, burglary/theft from vehicle, and damage to vehicles), the Burglary & Theft Unit (residential & commercial burglaries, thefts-other than vehicles, and shoplifting), Computer Crimes Unit (internet related crimes), Financial Crimes Unit (identity theft, fraud, and embezzlement), and the Repeat Offender Program.
The Special Investigations -- Drugs/Technical Operations Unit Section includes the Drug Enforcement Unit (all initial drug investigations), Drug Enforcement Administration Taskforce (major case drug investigations), and the Technical Operations Unit.
The Special Investigations -- Tactical/Intelligence Section includes the Special Assignments Unit (felony apprehensions and surveillance), SWAT, and the Criminal Intelligence Unit.
