PAWN SPECIALIST VOLUNTEER
Qualifications :
- Detail oriented
- Immediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows Office products and various software packages
- File alphabetically and numerically
- Comprehend written material
- Maintain confidentiality and security of records
- Review, check and compare data for accuracy
- Sit at a work station for an extended period of time completing data entry
- Operate a variety of standard office equipment including a computer terminal, telephone, scanner, copy and fax machine requiring continuous and repetitive arm, hand and eye movement.
Duties:
- Review, evaluate and enter transactional reports into the Maricopa County Pawn Database System.
- Identify transaction reports that are incomplete, incorrect and/or suspicious in nature.
- Liaison with the Pawn Specialist to assist with administrative tasks incuding the Tax & Licensing process and/or the Disputed Property Hearing process.
- Compile and distribute transaction reports for Detective review.
VOLUNTEER MANAGER'S ASSISTANT
Qualifications :
- Detailed oriented
- Must be able to type accurately
- Computer skills required/word/excel
- Filing skills/organization skills required
- Must be able to work business hours during the week a minimum of 2 hrs for 2 days a week
Duties:
- Assist the Community Liaison Officer/Volunteer Manager with record keeping
- Organize and keep track of volunteers time sheets/hours worked and yearly hours
- Set up file system and records management system
- Write monthly article for Police-Line on volunteers and happenings in the volunteer program
- Help organize events and yearly award ceremony for volunteers
- Assist Community Liaison Officer/Volunteer Manager as needed with projects for the Office of the Chief
MUSEUM PROJECT VOLUNTEER
Qualifications :
- Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely
- Outgoing and personable
- Have some museum experience & qualifications
- Could have retail merchandising experience &/or a designer background
- Be able to communicate clearly and concisely
- Be outgoing and personable
- Be able to network with other museums and do research on history of SPD
- Must be able to work 2 days per week as needed for 2 hours per day minimum
Duties:
- Will be responsible for cataloging, sorting and displaying items in the PD museum
- Will be responsible for creating venues for items displayed
- Will be responsible to create displays and showcase artifacts
- Will report to Community Liaison Officer and the Officer of the Chief
MUSEUM CAFE BARRISTA VOLUNTEER
Qualifications:
- Must be personable
- Detail oriented
- Have good time management skills
- Have customer service/retail/food service skills
- Have a food handlers card (can obtain once on staff)
- Must be able to work at least 2-3 days for 3-4 hours in the morning, possibly some afternoon but flexible
Duties:
- Will be responsible for operation of the Cafe during designated hours of service
- Display CiPAAS merchandise for purchase during work hours
- Serve coffee/muffins/cookies, etc at the headquarters building of Scottsdale Police Department, 8401 E Indian School during specific hours of operation
- Prepare, serve and clean up after service.
PHOTOGRAPHER VOLUNTEER
Qualifications:
- Must have knowledge/experience/background of photography (professionally or personally)
- Must be able to operate a digital camera
- Have computer skills and knowledge about downloading photographs, etc
- Personable and outgoing
- Be able to work on Apple computer system to create videos of photographs taken (can learn system once on staff)
Duties:
- Work for the Office of the Chief with both of the Community Relations Unit & the Public Information Office
- Must be available during Citizens Academy Program which consists of 12 consecutive Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 9:30 (September through November), 12 consecutive Wednesday evenings from 6:30 - 9:30 (March through May)
- When Citizens Academy is not in session, must be available for department projects but work around volunteer schedule and availability.
- Hours and days will vary but must be available to commit no more than 4 hours per session depending on project assignment
CONSTRUCTION/DISPLAY VOLUNTEER
Qualifications:
- Must have construction/building background or experience/talent in construction of display units
- Detail oriented
- Time management skills
- Creative building skills and use of different materials and tools
- Must have own tools and work area to build displays
- Have basic construction skills including painting, carpentry, possible electrical installations
- Construct display units, shelvings, etc for museum project
- Work with museum committee on items to be consturcted and or areas to be painted or prepared for installation of artifacts to be displayed
- Report to Museum Curator and Office of the Chief
