Traffic Restrictions Update

The following is a partial list of road construction projects and traffic restrictions taking place in Scottsdale June 14-23. For more information, contact Holly Walter at hwalter@ScottsdaleAZ.gov.

SCOTTSDALE/PINNACLE PEAK ROADS         

Silverstone Drive is fully closed at Scottsdale Road until approximately Sept. 2013. The Appaloosa Library and Vi at Silverstone will be accessible via alternative routes. Use 74th Street to Pinnacle Peak or Williams Drive as alternates. Please observe the 35 mph speed limit in this area.

FRANK LLOYD WRIGHT BOULEVARD

Drivers on Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will experience multiple lane closures in both directions and turn restrictions from Via Linda to Cactus Road 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through June 21 as utility and cable work occurs. Crews will work from east to west on Via Linda and south to north on Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard. Additional utility work will start at 136th Street and Shea Boulevard and continue north on 136th Street to Via Linda, shift west on Via Linda to Frank Lloyd Wright, then continue north.

Lane restrictions will take place on Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard at 82nd Street through June 28 as asphalt and concrete work takes place. 

Lane restrictions will take place on Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard at Sweetwater Avenue through July 19 as asphalt and concrete work takes place. No left turns will be permitted at Sweetwater Avenue.

HAYDEN ROAD/NORTHSIGHT BOULEVARD

Northsight Boulevard is closed at Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard until Aug. 3.

Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will be restricted to one lane in each direction 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly.

SCOTTSDALE ROAD/LINCOLN DRIVE – FULL CLOSURE 
The intersection of Scottsdale Road and Lincoln Drive will be fully closed from 2 a.m. Saturday, June 15 to 5 a.m. Monday, June 17 as road repairs and paving takes place. Please use the following detours:

  • From northbound Scottsdale Road, take McDonald Drive to Hayden Road to Indian Bend Road.
  • From southbound Scottsdale Road, take Indian Bend Road to Hayden Road to McDonald Drive.
  • From westbound Lincoln Drive, take Cattletrack Road to McDonald Drive.
  • From eastbound Lincoln Drive, take Mockingbird Lane to McDonald Drive or Indian Bend Road.

CACTUS/HAYDEN ROADS 
The eastbound curb lane on Cactus Road will be closed in short segments from 84th Street to 104th Street 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through June 21 as trench and utility work takes place in the area. During those same dates and times, following alternating closures will take place:

  • The southbound curb lane on Hayden Road will be closed from immediately south of Sweetwater Avenue to north of Cactus Road.
  • The northbound curb lane on Hayden Road will be closed from Cactus to Redfield roads.
  • The southbound curb lane on Hayden Road will be closed at Redfield Road.

SCOTTSDALE HEALTHCARE DRIVE 
Scottsdale Healthcare Drive will be fully closed from immediately east of 73rd Street to north of Thompson Peak Parkway June 25 – 26 as asphalt work and crosswalk construction takes place. Two driveways will be open to permit access to local clinics, however; bus routes will be detoured. The bus stop at 73rd Place will be relocated to the northwest corner of 73rd Street and Thompson Peak Parkway.

92ND STREET AREA
Cholla Street will be fully closed to thru traffic at 91st Street through July 15 to permit box culvert construction. During those same dates, traffic on 92nd Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction and shifted to the east side of the road from immediately north of Shea Boulevard to north of Poinsettia Drive. 

92nd Street will be reduced to one lane in both directions from immediately north of Shea Boulevard to north of Poinsettia until approximately July 2013. 

Poinsettia Drive will be fully closed to through traffic from 94th Way to immediately west of 95th Street through July to permit a box culvert replacement.

NEW UTILITY AND STREET WORK THROUGHOUT THE CITY

  • The westbound right turn lane on Thompson Peak Parkway will be closed at Scottsdale Road 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. through Saturday, June 15 as asphalt repairs take place. In addition, the northbound right turn lane on Scottsdale Road will be closed at Thompson Peak Parkway. Right turns will be permitted from the curb lanes. 

  • The northbound curb lane on Pima Road will be closed immediately north of McDonald Drive through Wednesday, June 19 as trench repairs take place. 

  • Lane closures will take place in both directions on Scottsdale Road at Cheney Drive 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. weekdays through June 21 to permit trench work. 

  • The westbound curb lane and sidewalk on McDowell Mountain Ranch Road will be closed at Paradise Lane from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, June 14 as sidewalk repairs take place. 

  • The eastbound curb lane on McDonald Drive will be closed at Granite Reef Road 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays June 17 – 27 as work occurs in the area. During those same dates and times, the southbound curb lane on Granite Reef Road will be closed at McDonald Drive. 

  • The westbound curb lane on Indian School Road will be closed at 68th Street 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. through June 31 as asphalt work takes place. During those same dates and times, the southbound curb lane on 68th Street will be closed at Indian School Road.
    **The eastbound curb lane on Shea Boulevard will be closed at 136th Street 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through June 21 as utility work occurs. 

  • Greenway-Hayden Loop will experience alternating lane closures at and immediately west of 73rd Street from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Friday, June 14 as rubberized asphalt paving occurs. 

  • The westbound curb lane on Redfield Road will be closed immediately west of 79th Street 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through June 21 for utility work. During those same dates and times, eastbound traffic on Redfield Road will be reduced to one lane and shifted to the center two-way left turn lane. 

  • The westbound curb lane on Via Linda will be closed at 128th Street 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. weekdays through June 21 as utility work takes place. During those same dates and times:

    • The westbound curb lane on Via Linda will be closed from 124th Street to the Arizona Canal.

    • Traffic on Via Linda will be reduced to one lane in both directions at 132nd and 136th streets.

CONTINUING UTILITY AND STREET WORK THROUGHOUT THE CITY

  • The westbound curb lane on Indian School Road will be closed intermittently at 64th Street 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays through June 21 for construction access to the canal. During the same time, the southbound curb lane on 68th Street will be closed intermittently immediately north of Indian School Road. 

  • A southbound lane on 64th Street will be closed at Osborn Road 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through June 21 for sidewalk and ramp construction. 

  • Rio Verde Drive will be restricted from 132nd to 138th streets. Please observe the reduced speed limits in this area. 

  • Curb lanes in both directions on McDonald Drive will be closed at Granite Reef Road 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. weekdays through Saturday, June 15 for trench work. During those same dates and times, the northbound curb lane on Granite Reef Road will be closed at McDonald Drive. 

  • A northbound lane on 64th Street will be closed at Thomas Road and the westbound curb lane on Thomas Road will be closed at 64th Street 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through June 21 as ADA ramps are constructed for the AZ Canal Multi-Use Path. 

  • A northbound lane on 64th Street will be closed at Osborn Road 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through June 21 as ADA ramps are constructed for the AZ Canal Multi-Use Path. 

  • Traffic on Hayden Road will be restricted to one lane in each direction at Osborn Road 8 p.m. – 5 a.m. weeknights through Friday, June 14 as utility work takes place. 

  • The westbound curb lane on Happy Valley Road will be closed at Alton Road 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. weekdays through Friday, June 7 as road paving takes place. 

  • Lane closures on Bell Road will take place in both directions at 136th Street 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through Friday, June 7 as utility work takes place. 

  • The eastbound curb lane on Shea Boulevard will be closed at 136th Street 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through June 24 for utility work. 

  • The westbound curb lane on Via de Ventura will be closed immediately west of Pima Road 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through June 21 for utility work. 

  • The eastbound curb lane on Indian School Road will be closed at 86th Street 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through June 21 for trench work. 

  • The curb lanes in both directions on Lincoln Drive will be closed west of Scottsdale Road 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. weekdays through Monday, June 17 for utility work. During those same dates and times, the southbound curb lane on Scottsdale Road will be closed north of Lincoln Drive. 

  • A westbound lane on Cactus Road will be closed is short segments from 90th to 96th streets 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. weekdays through Friday, June 14 as manhole work takes place.
