The Scottsdale Public Safety Teen Academy is conducted by the Scottsdale School Resource Officer (SRO) Unit under the command of Commander Johnny Cervantes.
The purpose of the Teen Academy is for teens ages 14-18 to have a better understanding between our young citizens and the police through education. It is also a chance for teens to see if they would like to pursue a career in law enforcement. A number of current Scottsdale Police Officers are successful graduates of prior Teen Academies. The Academy will create a growing nucleus of responsible, well informed young citizens with knowledge and understanding in regards to police practices and services.
