Scottsdale Firefighters, Police Hosting Charity Car Wash For Hurricane Katrina Victims

Date:       September 7, 2005
Contact: Dave Cieslak, Public Information Officer, Scottsdale Fire Department
Office phone (480) 312-1816

Scottsdale firefighters and police officers invite the public to a charity car wash for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, from 8-10 am on Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Carwasher, 7501 E. Indian School Rd. (75th Street and Indian School).

Scottsdale firefighters and police officers will be helping personnel at The Carwasher to dry off vehicles as they exit the wash rack. The minimum donation for a car wash is $11, which is the regular price of a basic wash at The Carwasher. Cash, checks or credit cards will be accepted. All proceeds will be donated to the Salvation Army's Hurricane Katrina Relief Effort, so motorists are encouraged to give as much as they're able.

Special thanks to The Carwasher for its kindness and generosity in this effort.
