Scottsdale residents are invited to take part in this years Scottsdale Clean &
Beautiful Month. During the month of April, the city coordinates weekly projects aimed at
assisting residents with beautifying their neighborhoods and encouraging citizens to take
positive environmental action to enhance our community environment.
Here is a list of upcoming events:
Rebuilding Together with Christmas in April - April 9
Using corporate sponsorships and volunteer labor, Rebuilding Together with
Christmas in April conducts home and safety repairs and rehabilitates homes of low-income,
disabled seniors and non-profit facilities.
Neighborhood Improvement/Clean up Weekend - April 16 & 17
Residents are encouraged to organize a clean up project such as alley
beautification, yard landscaping, home repair or litter pick-ups. Citizens can register
their neighborhood clean up project with the Scottsdale Pride Committee and receive city
recognition.
Adopt-a-Road ~ Scottsdale Clean & Scenic - April 23
Residents and businesses that have already adopted a road are encouraged
to do their litter pick up this day. Those residents/businesses that are interested in
cleaning an orphaned road can also do so this day.
EnviroKidsFest 05 & Sun Festival Southwest - April 28,
April 30 & May 1
Scottsdale fourth graders will participate in the second annual EnviroKidsFest
05 on Thursday, April 28 at WestWorld of Scottsdale. This environmental event
is designed to meet state science curriculum standards and provides interactive activities
highlighting solar and renewable energy, wildlife and preservation, water conservation and
recycling.
Sponsored by the City of Scottsdale, Sun Festival Southwest returns to Scottsdale for a
second year of a sun-and fun-filled educational weekend celebrating renewable energy and
healthy living for the community. Sun Festival Southwest will be held at WestWorld of
Scottsdale on Saturday, April 30 and Sunday, May 1, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Participants
will enjoy over 200 exhibitors, 50 workshops and keynote speakers including Hollywood
celebrities Ed Begley Jr. & Wendie Malick. For more information or to purchase
