About

Cactus Aquatic Center is one of the premiere competitive and recreational facilities in the state.  The Olympic-size, 50-meter heated pool can be set up in both long and short courses (50m or 25yd).  In addition, the pool has three, 1-meter and two, 3-meter diving boards.  Pool depth ranges from 3 to 14 feet.  This outdoor pool is open year-round (heated in the winter) and offers swimming for the general public, U.S. Swim and Dive teams, as well as high school teams, water exercise, recreational teams and swim lessons.

Fitness Center

The fitness portion of this facility also hosts a variety of aerobic, fitness and leisure education classes, free weights, machine weights and various cardiovascular machines.

The fitness center age restrictions are:

  • 13 and under: Not allowed  
  • 14 - 17: Allowed with a signed waiver by a parent or guardian 
  • 18 and up: Adult fee applies

Fees (November-February)

In analyzing facility costs, we have researched the cost of utilities. During November, December, January, and February; facility utility costs are double the cost of previous months. We want to keep the facilities open, so we are implementing a Pilot Program. We are instituting a rate increase for Lap Swimming and Fitness Center usage. (See table below)

Fees (March-October)

An admission fee is required for all visitors.  Fees for the pool and fitness center are per visit and are on a drop-in basis.  Membership is not required.

Summer Family Pass

Scottsdale's Summer Family Pass allows families of all sizes unlimited public swim and fitness center visits from Memorial Day through Labor Day.  A family of four that visits a city pool an average of two times a week receives a substantial savings over the drop-in price when they purchase a Family Pass for the season.  The savings increase the more frequently you attend.  A Family Pass at Eldorado, Cactus and Chaparral Aquatic Centers for a family of 6 is $120 and $20 for each additional family member.  This pass is valid at all three aquatic centers.  Family Passes can be purchased by Scottsdale residents and include unlimited public swim, lap swim and fitness center visits.  All aquatic classes require an additional registration fee.
