Volunteer Sign Team

The Volunteer Sign Removal Program, utilizes volunteers in the removal of illegal right-of-way signs. With violators getting less “ad time” because signs are being removed at a record pace, it won’t be long before they realize their advertising dollars are not working. Because of this we are predicting there will be a significant decrease in the number of illegal signs in the right-of-way.

Who is a sign volunteer?

A Sign Volunteer is a person who has completed the required certified Volunteer Training Program. This program consists of 8-12 hours of training and covers topics such as City of Scottsdale Volunteer Program policies and procedures. This training will also provide the volunteer with the tools to make the appropriate judgments and decisions in the field.

  • A Sign Volunteer adheres to relevant City of Scottsdale policies and procedures.
  • A Sign Volunteer may have access to City of Scottsdale resources and will be supported by the City in their efforts.
  • A Sign Volunteer works as a team member toward the common goal of ridding the City of illegal “bandit” (de minimis) signs.
