Scottsdale’s Western Week brings together the best of our community’s Old West traditions with new West style and expanded events.
The fun begins at 11 a.m. this Saturday, Feb. 4, with “Rhinestones, Rodeo and Retro Style,” a vintage glamour event at Scottsdale’s Museum of the West.
Activities culminate Feb. 10-11 when the Hashknife Pony Express thunders into town and the Parada del Sol Parade and Trail’s End Celebration add a fresh chapter to Scottsdale’s original and longest-running special event.

Old West also part of the fun, heritage at Railroad Park
Scottsdale’s many ties to the Old West include a place probably better known for birthday parties.
Tucked alongside the tracks within McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, is a miniature “Western Town.” Designed as part of an architecture project by Arizona State University students, the area includes a maze of mock Old West store fronts and a climbable metal stagecoach.
The entire railroad park, in fact, resonates with a western theme. The on-site Scottsdale Railroad Museum has detailed exhibits – including full-size train cars -- about the Sante Fe Railroad and how the railroad contributed to settling the American West.
