Suspect Anthony Stephens arrested

Scottsdale, Arizona (January 16, 2017)

Scottsdale Police have arrested 28 year old Anthony David Stephens in the January 15th shooting death of Charles Jackson Sr.  

On January 15, 2017 Scottsdale Police responded to a 911 call from the Jackson home by a family member. Responding officers discovered the victim deceased in a bedroom from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Initial investigation led detectives to believe that the victim had been the killed in a burglary and immediately launched a homicide investigation.  

suspicious-person-DR-17-01139During the investigation, detectives spoke with numerous residents in the neighborhood and obtained surveillance video of a suspicious person.  Working in conjunction with the Mesa Police Department, Anthony Stephens was established as a person of interest in the victim’s death. Investigators learned that Stephens had been arrested in Mesa for trespassing within hours after the Scottsdale Homicide.  


Upon being released on the Mesa charges, he was detained by Scottsdale detectives for questioning.  Based on the investigation, Stephens was arrested and booked on numerous felony charges to include 1st Degree Murder and Burglary.  The Scottsdale Police Department Report Number is 17-01139.
