At 1:45 am on 03/30/13 a pedestrian was crossing Scottsdale Rd westbound on 5th Ave. in the north crosswalk (against a red signal), when he was struck by a yellow cab traveling southbound on Scottsdale Rd. The pedestrian received head trauma and was transported to SHC-Osborn where he received treatment. The collision was initially thought to be life threatening, however the individual is expected to make a full recovery. Alcohol was a factor on the part of the pedestrian. The driver of the cab was released at the scene. The roadway was closed for 3.5 hrs while detectives gathered evidence at the scene.
