Fines and Restitution - Making Payments

EN ESPAÑOL

Once you have made a plea or have been found guilty or responsible of a violation, you have an obligation to pay your fines on the date of sentencing. When you plead "Guilty" or "No Contest" to criminal violations or "Responsible" in civil matters charged against you, you must make full payment for all fines/sanctions owed.
All fines, sanctions, fees and restitution are due in full on the day of sentencing.

Calculate What You Owe

Payment CONTRACTS

If you are financially unable to meet your court ordered obligation on the day of sentencing, you may be placed on a payment plan. This can only be considered once you have completed the following:
  1. Complete a detailed application to determine your ability to pay. Credit history verification through a national credit bureau may also be required. This process may take up to one hour or longer.
  2. Pay the state mandated $20.00 fee (per case) for payment plan in addition to your total obligation. A.R.S. 12-116 not part of City of Scottsdale web site
If you do not pay in full OR report to the Fines Enforcement Division on the day of sentencing, the Court will:
  1. Order you to appear in Court to explain your failure to comply with Court Orders to pay (for criminal and criminal traffic cases only).

If any of your charges are classified as criminal or criminal traffic and you fail to obey orders to pay, a warrant may be issued for your arrest.

  2. Add a $50.00 default fee to the amount you owe for each civil traffic violation on your case.

The Court will also notify the State Motor Vehicle Division not part of City of Scottsdale web site of the default and they may place a suspension on your driving privilege.

Driving on a suspended license is a criminal traffic charge that could also result in arrest.
