Details: SPD responded to the Chase Bank at 10011 E. Dynamite Blvd. after an employee reported finding a suspicious package behind a small counter in the ATM vestibule. Upon arrival the package was observed and it appeared to be an explosive device. The bank was evacuated and a perimeter was set. Mesa PD's bomb squad responded and determined the device was an elaborate fake. It is believed this incident is connected to a series of bank robberies utilizing mock explosive devices in the greater Phoenix area.
