Cheers to 70 Years Scottsdale Airport!

“To measure the heartbeat of your city, take the pulse of its Airport.”
 ~ General William Mitchell, 1929

Located near the heart of Scottsdale’s northern shopping and entertainment corridor is the Scottsdale Airport.  From its inception as a basic flight training facility on June 22, 1942, Scottsdale has flourished over the last 70 years and is still beating strong.

Zulu Caffe invites you to celebrate the Airport’s 70th Birthday with Mayor W.J. “Jim” Lane from 5 to 8 p.m.  Friday, June 22.  This is a free community celebration at Zulu Caffe, 15000 N. Airport Drive -- the only restaurant located on airport. Mayor Lane will provide brief remarks at 5:30 p.m.

Complimentary hors d’oeuvres, birthday cake and live entertainment will be provided. This event is open to everyone. If you plan to attend, please RSVP by June 20 by emailing contact@zulucaffe.com or by calling 480-289-0177.

Celebrate the airport’s rich history.  Did you know Scottsdale’s first mayor Malcolm White was a Thunderbird II civilian flight instructor?
