68th Street - Shea to Cholla

The City of Scottsdale Transportation Department has been working with residents to address speeding and cut-through traffic concerns.

Update - May 14, 2012

Construction on the 68th Street Neighborhood Traffic Management Project is scheduled to begin soon. Once we confirm the construction date, we'll update this page.

Throughout construction, access to homes will be maintained at all times.  A minimum of one travel lane in each direction will also be maintained throughout construction.  All work will be performed by Nesbitt Contracting Company between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.

This project will consist of four asphalt speed cushions.  After the traffic calming devices have been constructed the warning signs and striping (white edge line and chevrons on the speed cushions) will be installed.

Funding for this project was approved by the Transportation Commission in May 2011.
For questions related to the construction of this project, please contact Annette Grove at (480) 312-2399 or agrove@scottsdaleaz.gov. Or for traffic engineering questions, please contact Traffic Engineering Analyst Jennifer Horodyski at 480-312-7517.

Update - April 4, 2012

For the past couple years, the City of Scottsdale Transportation Department has been working with residents along 68th Street- Shea Boulevard to Cholla Street to address speeding and cut through traffic concerns. Residents helped develop a plan consisting of speed cushions and an enhanced pedestrian crossing at the trail. The next step in moving forward is documentation of neighborhood support for the project through the petition process.

If you would like to learn more about the proposed project, provide input regarding the proposed traffic calming plan; please join us for a neighborhood meeting on:
