Social Media Feedback and Comments

The primary purpose of the City’s use of social media tools is to communicate news, events and information to residents, businesses, visitors and other interested parties. If a social media tool accepts comments, please note that it will be considered a moderated online discussion site and not a public forum. Where moderation of comments is an available option, comments may be moderated by City of Scottsdale staff prior to publishing. Where monitoring prior to posting is not an option, sites will be regularly monitored by city staff.

The City reserves the right to delete submissions that contain vulgar language, personal attacks of any kind, or offensive comments that target or disparage any ethnic, racial, or religious group. In addition, the City also reserves the right to delete comments that:

  • Are clearly off topic, and/or disruptive
  • Advocate illegal activity
  • Infringe on copyrights or trademarks
  • Contain spam, advertising or include links to other sites
  • Contain private personal information about an individual without consent
  • Promote particular services, products, or political organizations

Comments to our posts on social media sites do not reflect the opinions and position of the City of Scottsdale or its officers and employees. The City of Scottsdale is not responsible or liable for comments or feedback posted by any subscriber to our social media tools.

Please be warned that use of social media websites may increase your exposure to viruses. Be sure to protect your personal information by customizing the privacy settings of each social networking site you choose to join.  The City places greater priority on updating content on our city website (ScottsdaleAZ.gov) over updating social media tools. ScottsdaleAZ.gov should remain your primary online resource for City of Scottsdale information.
