City staff take government to the people
during neighborhood visits this Saturday
Scottsdale city staff and volunteers will go door-to-door in the Coronado Heights and Frontier Place neighborhoods this Saturday, Nov. 3, for the first fall 2007 “Take Government to the People” event.
Staff will provide information about Scottsdale’s Revitalization Program and talk with residents about issues and opportunities for their neighborhoods.
Following the neighborhood visits, Coronado Heights and Frontier Place residents are invited to a community picnic that will be held at Eldorado Park, located at 2311 N. Miller Road, behind the Boy’s & Girl’s Club, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The picnic will include lunch, city resource tables and opportunities for residents to talk with city staff.
“Scottsdale’s Neighborhood Revitalization program is strong thanks to the efforts of our residents and city staff,” says City Manager Jan Dolan. “We continue to see reinvestment activity in our neighborhoods, Downtown and the community as a whole.”
The Coronado Heights and Frontier Place neighborhoods include nearly 400 homes and are generally bordered from Thomas Road to Oak Street and from Scottsdale to Miller roads.
This is the seventh door-to-door event since November 2005 where city staff has taken city government to the front doors of its southern-area Scottsdale residents. More 2007-08 “Take Government to the People” events are scheduled for Dec. 1, Feb. 9, 2008 and March 1, 2008.
