Scottsdale residents invited to apply for advisory boards
The Scottsdale City Council invites Scottsdale residents to apply for positions opening this fall on several boards and commissions.
Openings will occur on the Human Services Commission, Judicial Appointments Advisory Board, Library Board, Loss Trust Fund Board, Neighborhood Enhancement Commission, Parks and Recreation Commission and the Scottsdale Pride Committee.
Applications should be submitted by Sept. 14 to give Council members adequate time for review.
The Council will nominate from the applicant pool on Oct. 2. Those nominated will be interviewed on Oct. 23. After interviews, the Council will appoint residents to three-year terms.
Current members who have completed a first term are eligible for reappointment for a second, three-year term.
A complete listing of vacancies and an application form are available on the city’s Web site at www.ScottsdaleAZ.gov. Follow links for “Mayor, Council and Government” and “Boards and Commissions.”
The application form, which is valid for one year, can also be emailed to interested residents who call the City Clerk's office at (480) 312-2412, or may be picked up in the City Clerk's office in City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.
All board and commission members need to comply with the city's Ethics Code. More information on the Code is also available on the city's Web site.
