Scottsdale Web site launches new search tool
Key word search now available for many public documents
Citizens searching for archived documents on the Scottsdale City Clerk’s Web site have a new tool to assist them.
A full text search engine has been added to the Web site to assist users in locating their documents more easily and quickly. Here is a link to the new site:

Online access to documents such as City Council agendas, minutes, ordinances, resolutions and contracts has been available since December 2005 on the Scottsdale Web site. Search capabilities, however, were limited to dates and document numbers making it sometimes time-consuming to find a specific record.
Under the new full text search tool, users enter the type of document they are seeking, a date or date range and then have an option of entering a word or phrase in a keyword search field.
By including more details, a data base search returns a more specific list of responsive documents and makes finding information easier.
The new key-word search feature is part of the city’s electronic document management system that provides important public documents in an electronic format for easy access over the Internet.
