Volunteers sought to fill eight Scottsdale board openings

Scottsdale residents are invited to apply for volunteer positions on eight boards and commissions which will be filled by the City Council in January.

Openings exist on the Human Services Commission, Library Board, Loss Trust Fund Board, Neighborhood Advisory Commission, Planning Commission, Tourism Development Commission, Trails Subcommittee and Transportation Commission.

Information about the functions of these boards and commissions and an application can be found on the city’s website at www.ScottsdaleAZ.gov/boards.

Applications should be submitted by Friday, Jan. 3 to give Council members adequate time for review.

The application form, which is valid for one year, can also be emailed to interested residents who call 480-312-7977, or may be picked up in the City Clerk’s office in City Hall, 3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd.

The Council will nominate from the applicant pool on Jan. 14. Nominees will be interviewed on Jan. 27 at a City Council meeting.

Following the interviews, the Council will appoint residents to three-year terms. All Board and Commission members must comply with the city’s Ethics Code.
