Let’s get moving -- General Plan workshop
focuses on transportation
Walk. Bike. Drive. Fly. Ride. No matter how you get here, we need you to join the conversation!
What do you think about transit in Scottsdale? Does the city provide adequate support for biking and walking? How does growing traffic congestion affect quality of life?
These are just some of the important discussions that will take place at a pair of “café conversations” that are part of the General Plan 2014 process.
Two identical sessions will be offered on Wednesday, Sept. 18, at the Jewish Community Center, 12701 N. Scottsdale Road. The first session runs from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.; the second from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
The “café conversation” format is informal and designed to encourage open dialogue in an inviting environment – think of it like sitting around a table enjoying food and conversation at a favorite local diner.
Participants will get a brief introduction on local transportation basics. They will then sit with other participants at a series of “café tables” to discuss various transportation questions. The resulting conversations will help update the General Plan Transportation Element.
The café conversations are limited to 60 people each. Registration is required and begins Tuesday, Sept. 3, here: www.scottsdaleaz.gov/generalplan/generalplan2014/workshopseries/SGPWorkshop3.
