Scottsdale seeks to fill board and commission vacancies

The City of Scottsdale is accepting applications to fill vacancies on nine advisory bodies – the Airport Advisory Commission, Board of Adjustment, Building Advisory Board of Appeals, the Environmental Quality Advisory Board, the Historic Preservation Commission, the Library Board, the McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission, the Parks and Recreation Commission, and the Tourism Development Commission.

The city is recruiting Scottsdale residents to fill three-year terms on each advisory body. Applications are due Nov. 23. The City Council will nominate from the pool of applicants on Dec. 13; appointees will be selected after those nominees are interviewed at the Jan. 10 City Council meeting.

Applications and more information about the role of each of these advisory boards and commissions are available online at www.scottsdaleaz.gov/boards or by calling the City Clerk’s Office at (480) 312-2412. Applications may also be picked up at Scottsdale City Hall (3939 N. Drinkwater Blvd).

More than 200 Scottsdale residents serve on the city’s boards and commissions, providing thousands of hours of volunteer service to the city each year.
