Scottsdale Downtown office to move, services being redirected and enhanced
The city of Scottsdale downtown group is a function of the city’s economic vitality department that provides service and support to merchants, citizens and visitors in downtown Scottsdale. To reduce costs of this service, the downtown group will be relocated from its storefront at 4248 N. Craftsman Court to Scottsdale’s economic vitality office (4021 N. 75th Street, Suite 102) on Friday, May 27.
The visitors to Scottsdale’s downtown will continue to be greeted by downtown ambassadors with their highly recognizable red and white shirts and smiling faces. Downtown information will continue to be available at the various downtown kiosks as well as the Scottsdale Convention and Visitors Bureau. Staff liaisons will continue to serve downtown merchants.
To support the downtown merchant community, the economic vitality department will begin a series of “Merchant Talk” forums to enhance dialogue and grow the health of Scottsdale’s economy. The first “Merchant Talk” meeting will be held in the economic vitality conference room on Thursday, June 30 from 8-9:30 a.m. Subsequent meetings will be scheduled periodically.
“There are benefits to closing this remotely located office including streamlining services and eliminating logistical challenges associated with staff removed from the rest of the city with which it must collaborate and communicate,” said Rob Millar, strategic programs manager. “Our goal is to save money and actually improve services with increased synergism between special events, tourism and merchant services.”
The economic vitality office is located at 4021 N. 75th Street, Suite 102 which is a short walk from City Hall, the Civic Center mall and downtown Scottsdale. The economic vitality office can be reached at 480-312-3111.
