City’s Green Building manager named “Citizen of the Year”
Anthony Floyd, Scottsdale’s Green Building program manager, has received the 2008 “Citizen of the Year” award from the Scottsdale Area Association of Realtors.
Floyd was recognized for his commitment to environmental sustainability and Green Building practices.
Floyd is a registered architect and helped create the city’s Green Building Program – the state’s first -- in 1998. He oversees the project approval process, outreach programs and energy code compliance. He maintains the city’s Green Building rating standards for residential and commercial construction and helps oversee Scottsdale’s efforts to achieve LEED Gold energy saving standards for newly constructed and renovated public facilities.
Floyd is co-chair of the U.S. Green Building Council Codes Committee and a member of the National Association of Home Builders’ Green Building Standard consensus committee. He has a civil engineering and architecture degree from Penn State University and a Master’s degree in public administration from Arizona State University.
