Ample Parking/Transportation in Downtown Scottsdale
to Accommodate Nov. 6-9 Fashion Week Attendees
Downtown Scottsdale is gearing up for the third annual Scottsdale Fashion Week, being held Nov. 6-9, 2008. Building on the success and reputation of the previous two years, the 2008 event features two runways, one on the north side of Marshall Way bridge (just east of the Nordstrom parking facility) that is fully enclosed and provides a Milan-style setting, and a second runway on the south side of Marshall Way bridge (in the middle of the SouthBridge project located on Stetson Drive) with free public access daily until 6 p.m.
The Scottsdale Fashion Week district is anchored by Westcor’s Scottsdale Fashion Square on the north and encompasses Scottsdale Waterfront, the Arizona Canal, SouthBridge, and the downtown arts district which will again host the opening night’s SFW08 Wearable ArtWalk presented by the Scottsdale Gallery Association.
To accommodate the thousands of people that flock to this signature event, the city of Scottsdale’s Downtown Office is promoting use of four public parking facilities that each provide more than 300 spaces and are within close proximity to the event.
Locations of the four public parking facilities include:
- The Nordstrom Garage at 7000 E. Via Solari Drive (300 spaces above ground) – located just south of Camelback and just east of Goldwater Blvd.
- The Waterfront Garage at 7135 E. Camelback Rd. (300 space, underground) – with access off of Camelback, just west of Scottsdale Road.
- The SouthBridge Garage at 7106 E. Stetson Drive (425 spaces, underground) – with access off of Stetson Drive, just north of 5th Avenue; and
- The Fifth Avenue Garage at 7143d E. 5th Avenue (409 spaces, above ground) – with access off of 5th Avenue and 3rd Avenue, just west of Scottsdale Road.
Fashion Week attendees are also encouraged to take advantage of the free trolley service that enables visitors to park anywhere in the Downtown, hop on the trolley to get to the event and then use the trolley for the return trip to their parking site. The trolley runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and stops at 10-15 minute intervals at each trolley stop.
