Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard reopens to two lanes
Construction progress at the Frank Lloyd Wright/Scottsdale Road intersection means motorists will have an easier time getting around the area starting Saturday morning, Oct. 11.
These traffic changes are taking place:
- Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will open to two lanes in each direction at Scottsdale Road.
- Southbound Scottsdale Road will open to two lanes. Northbound Scottsdale Road, however, will remain restricted to one through lane.
- A single left-turn lane will open in all four directions.
Traffic restrictions began at the intersection last August to permit a variety of improvements, including new underground conduit for a 12kv power line, new water lines, new storm drain, new bike lanes, a pedestrian walkway over the Central Arizona Project Canal and reconstruction of the intersection.
The project is scheduled for completion in late November when the Frank Lloyd Wright/Scottsdale Road intersection will reopen to three lanes in all directions.
Business access will be maintained during the project with signs directing motorists to business entry points.
Through late November, Scottsdale Road also is restricted to one open through lane in each direction between Paradise and Grayhawk drives.
